Meet Gary Wilder
Founder & Chief Golf Engineer
Most outdoor living contractors look at a backyard and see square footage, drainage, and property lines. Gary Wilder looks at a space and sees a championship break.
As a competitive 1-handicap golfer and self-described golf junkie, Gary didn't launch Sims & Greens to build "mini-golf layouts" or basic garage hitting bays. He founded it out of pure personal frustration.
To get his own home simulator setup right, Gary completely tore it down and rebuilt it three times until the acoustics, the turf transitions, and the launch analytics perfectly matched a true day on the course.
Tour-Proven Authority
Gary’s deep understanding of ball-flight physics, sub-base drainage, and elite turf characteristics has made him the trusted authority for homeowners, club members, and professional athletes across Tampa Bay and beyond.
"Whether you’re prepping for the member-guest at Belleair or grooving your swing after a round at Pelican, your home facility should mirror those exact championship conditions. Anything less is a disservice to your game.” — Gary Wilder
The "General Contractor of Golf" Philosophy
Gary treats a golf sanctuary like elite home architecture. Under his direction, Sims & Greens rejects the "jack-of-all-trades" approach. Instead, Gary operates as the master engineer, deploying a vetted dream team of licensed specialists for every build:
- Custom Structures: Murphy’s Aluminum
- Landscaping & Lighting: JR Landscape Design
- Custom Bars & Fine Carpentry: MD Construction
- Climate Control & Mini-Splits: Blue Water A/C
When you work with Sims & Greens, you are working directly with a golfer who demands the exact same standards you expect at premier clubs like Pelican, Belleair, or Old Memorial.
